Matt Wills (CF-L2)
My name is Matt Wills, I am a Colorado native and have been here my whole life. My beautiful wife, Tracey and I haave three amazing children Easton, Ellie, and Emerson who always keep us on our toes. I’ve had a competitive nature since I was young and working out has always been a part of my life. So when I found CrossFit towards the end of 2012, it was a perfect fit. Crossfit allows a person to continue to excel at the things that they’re good and at the same time exposes the weaknesses that need to continue to be improved on. It’s a never ending quest to prepare yourself for the unexpected. I’ve had the opportunity to coach athletes for the last seven years. I currently hold my level 2 coaching certification and I’m excited to continue my education into the future.

David Layman (CF-L2)
David Layman (aka DLay) started doing Crossfit in 2008 and from the first “Wod” was hooked. Later that
same year he acquired his Level I certification and began coaching. Several years later he decided to
pursue and again acquired his Level II certification. He found his way to CFCR in the spring of 2011 and
has been coaching and plugged into this great community ever since! The friendships he’s made and
impacts this place has had on him have been profound. He still enjoys competing and training for
competitions from time to time and like most, he still enjoys competing and throwing down with
buddies in the gym. He and his wife Jen have been married since 2011 and they have 2 kids, Kevin and
Kaylee! Family is one of DLay’s top priorities and what makes him tick. When he’s not working or
coaching he’s sure to be found with his family! DLay has always had a heart and passion for serving and
is always eager to engage members to build relationships and help them along in their pursuit of their fitness goals, whatever they may be!

Ryan Yeggy (CF-L1)
Growing up on a farm in Iowa, I was no stranger to an active lifestyle. However, I didn’t find
fitness until my early 20s, when I noticed some extra beer and pizza hanging out around my waist. My
exercise was mainly long-distance running, biking, and swimming until I decided to try CrossFit. I was
immediately hooked. My CrossFit journey began as the terrified guy who worked out alone in the
corner and prayed that nobody was watching him. Over the last four years, the CFCR community has
taken me under their wing and I have forged friendships and relationships that I’m sure will last a
lifetime. CrossFit has given me the tools and confidence to meet life head-on.
Outside of the gym, I spend most of my time with my girlfriend, friends, and my cat (shout-out
to Bella). I enjoy hiking, camping, and being outside – this summer will be spent trying to knock out as
many 14ers as I can. In my free time I try to read and travel as much as possible. And don’t worry, I still
enjoy beer and pizza, I just try not to let it hang out any longer than it needs to.

I love coaching and I’m very excited to be coaching at CrossFit Castle Rock. Castle Rock is my home and has been for the last 18 years. My husband and I have been married for almost 26 years and we have two “adult” boys. I found CrossFit in October 2006 and to be honest, at that point the direction of my life changed. Almost immediately I began coaching CrossFit. For the last decade I’ve been working for CrossFit HQ on the Seminar Staff and more recently I began working for the CrossFit Games team as the Athlete Communications Manager. I can’t wait to see you all at the gym!
